Mansfield’s Simon Plackett was treated to a special evening of cycling last week by the Motorpoint pro-cycling team in Stoke-on-Trent.
Simon, a keen cyclist, was one of dozens of cycling fans from around the UK who entered the competition on the Motorpoint Pro-Cycling website to win a pair of VIP tickets to follow the action from the hospitality suite for the team’s home race in Staffordshire.
He wasn’t disappointed as Ian Bibby and the rest of the guys tore strips out of the competition to regain the Halfords Tour Series yellow jersey.
Speaking afterwards, Simon said: “I am a big cycling fan and have been following the Tour Series on the internet but to be able to get up close and personal and meet the likes of Ed Clancy was really incredible.”
