The Motorpoint Pro-Cycling team claimed a top ten finish in the Tour of the Reservoir, the opening round of the Premier Calendar.
A 110-strong field, including a six riders from Motorpoint, battled extremely windy conditions, to complete six laps of the lake in the North East.
After a slow start, a leading group of 20 riders including Motorpoint’s Pete Williams broke away with a ten minute lead on the remainder of the field.
Eventually, Simon Richardson (Sigma Sport) led a smaller break to take a win 54 seconds ahead of the rest of the group, with Motorpoint’s Williams taking eighth position, Ian Bibby (19th) and James Sampson (22nd).
The Premier Calendar continues next month with the three-day Tour of Doonhame in the Scottish Borders between April 3-6.
