Motorpoint have retained the yellow jersey in the Halfords Tour Series 2010 after a dramatic night of road racing in the historic city of Chester.
Although the spoils on the evening went to Endura Racing, who took a 1-2-3, strong performances from Malcolm Elliott and Andy Tennant in front of over 15,000 people ensured the team came in second as riders tore around the city’s ancient lanes.
The team, back on track after victory in Stoke-in-Trent, dug deep to place two riders in the top 10 in the late evening Cheshire sunshine. The night was a complete wash-out however for Motorpoint’s nearest rivals – Rapha Condor Sharp – who saw two of their riders crash out in a massive pile-up on the final bend and with it their chances of winning the Series.
The scene is now set for an epic final round in Woking in Thursday with only two points separating Motorpoint from Endura Racing.
