August was meant to be a fairly quiet month for the team with a brief respite from the busy cycling schedule of June and July.
But predictably plans change and the team will head straight to Spain after the Richmond Grand Prix to compete in the La Vuelta Leon.
The event takes place from 3rd to 7th August in picturesque northern Spain. It could prove a challenge for the team with plenty of hill climbs, high summer Spanish heat and fearsome Continental teams.
As soon as the event finishes the team will then head to Brittany, France for the 12th August to compete in the 4-day Mi-Aout Road Race.
For Team Manager Keith Lambert it’s meant re-arranging current plans. “We were originally only going to Brittany but an Italian team pulled out so we got the chance to go to Spain. It has proved tricky to plan – particularly the ferries as they’ve all been full with holidaymakers, but it seems to have all come together now.
He adds, “For the lads it would be great preparation before the Tour of Britain of September. Bibby, Williams and McEvoy have all had good success on the Continent previously so hopefully it will be a brilliant experience for them.
