Electric Elliott pipped at post

Malcolm Elliott had to settle for second in the opening round of the 2010 Halfords Tour Series at Canary Wharf in London last night.

The 48 year-old was pipped on the line by Tony Gibb ( CyclePremier.com – Metaltek London)  in a frantic and frenetic hour long race around the Docklands in front of thousands of fans and city workers.

What’s more, strong performances by Ed Clancy and Steve Burke ensured the team now lies third overall in the team standings going into the race around the historic streets of Durham on Thursday.
