Motorpoint’s Ed Clancy stormed to his second victory in a week in the Elite Circuit Series in Blackburn last night.
The Olympic gold medal team pursuit winner took the initiative in East Lancashire from the outset, leading an early break away from the peleton.
Together with teammate Jonny McEvoy and riders from rivals Rapha Condor Sharp and Kuota Road CC, they quickly built up a healthy lead around the twisty, cobbled circuit inspite of a torrential downpour half way through the race before Clancy left the others behind to cross the finish well clear. The victory comes only a matter of days after Clancy was crowned National Circuit Race Champion in West Yorkshire.
It was a good night overall for the team with riders Jonny McEvoy, Malcolm Elliott and Pete Williams all coming in the top 10.
