Bibby takes second win in three days

Ian Bibby took his second win in three days at the Smithfield Nocturne on Saturday night.

Hot on the heels from his win at Stoke on Thursday in the Halfords Tour Series, Bibby employed the same tactics by leading the race from the outset in the 1.1km hour long race around Smithfield Market in London.

From the start the pace was fast with a break of four riders including several favourites from the UK circuit race scene. A gap of over a minute rapidly built from the main peleton and by near darkness the race was reaching its climax in front of a 10,000 strong crowd

Again Rapha-Condor-Sharpe’s tactics did not pay off, in what was their home race with Bibby showing the same fast pace and skill to take a strong win again.

Speaking after the race, Bibby admitted having raced every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday since May that he was worried about getting tired. However, with several wins under his belt recently Bibs admitted “it couldn’t be much better for me right now.”
