Motorpoint is aiming to be at the front of the pack in British Pro-Cycling in 2010

The UK’s leading car supermarket is the driving force behind the newly-launched Motorpoint Pro-Cycling Team. The nine-strong professional team, which is based in Stone in Staffordshire, will be managed by Phil Griffiths, a former British Cycling Champion, and coached by Keith Lambert. Throughout Keith’s time as a ‘Pro rider, he won the British Championship three times and represented Great Britain in the World Championship on several occasions.

Leading the charge for the line will be Olympic gold medal winner Ed Clancy MBE along with fellow Team GB star Andy Tennant.  Joining them will be Steve Burke, Andrew Roche, Jonathan McEvoy, Ian Bibby, Lee David, Pete Williams, James Sampson and Malcolm Elliott, one of the best British cyclists of recent years.

The team will ride the Opera ‘Super Leonardo’ bike for the duration of the season and are scheduled to compete in high-profile races such as the Tour of Britain and the ‘UK Tour Series’ – the city centre-based cycling race series broadcast live on TV.
