Motorpoint left yearning for more in York
Motorpoint’s Johnny McEvoy finished fourth in the penultimate round of the National Elite Circuit Series in York on Sunday.
With a spectacular finish under the shadow of York Minster, the race looked from the outset like it might play into Motorpoint’s hands.
Pete Williams led with a three man break very early on and looked like he might be in contention for a top three finish.
For a while Ed Clancy and Malcolm Elliott sat at the front but kept the pace too slow for the Rapha Condor Sharp and Endura riders who grew impatient and pushed past Williams’ who was left to filter through the peleton.
The race ended with a tight sprint finish between five riders with Jonny McEvoy just missing out on third place. For Motorpoint it was a disappointing end to the evening with a race that had looked promising the start.
